Who owns these photographs — and how you can use them.
Every image on this site, and every photograph delivered by Steve Edwards Real Estate Photography, is an original work protected by copyright. Here’s a plain-English summary of what that means for the agents and brokerages we work with — and how to license an image for any other use.
Copyright
© Steve Edwards Real Estate Photography. All photographs are the exclusive property of Steve Edwards Real Estate Photography and are protected under U.S. copyright law from the moment they are created. Copyright is retained by the photographer at all times and is not transferred by purchase.
What your order includes
When you commission a shoot, the listing agent and their brokerage receive a license to use the delivered images to market the subject property — MLS, listing portals such as Zillow, Realtor.com and Redfin, your brokerage website, social media, print flyers and property-specific marketing — for as long as the listing is active.
What isn’t included
Unless agreed otherwise in writing, images may not be resold, sublicensed or redistributed; used by a different agent, brokerage, builder, stager or third party; used to market a different property; or altered in a way that misrepresents the property. Photographs remain licensed for the specific listing they were created for.
